UEFA is considering organizing a small tournament at the end of the season. These matches will only have 1 turn and are likely to take place in a week. This is the same format with the World Cup or EURO.
The source of Marca newspaper revealed, after 2 months of discussion, UEFA is inclined to “mini tour” with the name Final Eight. The teams will gather in Portugal to complete the Champions League this season, because many places in Europe still restrict travel, including the city of Istanbul.
Specifically, Final Eight will take place within 12 days in the Portuguese capital Lisbon. In particular, the quarterfinals will take place from August 12 to 15, the semi-finals on August 18 and August 19 and the final will fall on August 23. The matches will be held in the form of a knockout match instead of the first leg – the return leg as before.
